The STEM Discovery Centre is a unique education facility, developed in partnership with North Hertfordshire College, Airbus and the Hertfordshire LEP, to celebrate STEM and inspire young people to consider a career in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Following the latest government announcement, the STEM Discovery Centre is temporarily closed to the public. We are working in line with government and DfE advice adapting our offer to accommodate new policy regarding the current COVID-19 situation.
We offer school trips that spark the imagination, electrifying the senses and galvanise young people to consider a career in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Book now to visit our education centre where you can explore and learn for yourself; complemented by a programme of compelling presenter-led activities.
Our education programme is linked to key stage 2 and 3 curriculum and is designed and delivered by North Hertfordshire College.
Our creative zone is a state-of-the-art classroom for presenter led hands-on activities activities and science shows.
Where visitors can get hands-on with our exhibits, we absolutely insist that you can touch and have a go at all you see. This area includes interactive exhibits covering the themes of Space, Energy (including Light and Sound), Materials, Forces and Magnetism.
Where visitors can see how the STEM subjects link to careers and the world around us. This area also provides viewing access to the Mars Yards test area, where visitors can actually see the prototype rovers that Airbus engineers are testing as part of the ExoMars project.
